Background
Globalization brings great changes to the world’s economic and social environment. With the development of science and technology, international specialization is getting more and more specific, and the number of companies that outsource their non-core business to other third-party service providers is increasing. As a result, the service sector of cost-effective countries develops rapidly in recent years, and today the global sourcing sector has become an important constituent of international trade. The total value of the global sourcing reaches US$1.2 trillion in 2007.
China’s government has attached great importance to the development of service outsourcing sector, suggesting that China will be an increasingly attractive outsourcing base for the world. Meanwhile, the foreign capital investment in software development, life science, and financial services are encouraged by the government. Furthermore, the government plans to implement policies to support the service outsourcing industry, encourage companies to obtain international certifications and develop new service outsourcing industry bases.
Jiangsu Province is an important service outsourcing base in China with many service outsourcing providers. Nanjing is one of the eleven “National Service Outsourcing Base Cities” designated by the Chinese central government; In Jiangsu, there are 3 national Service Outsourcing exemplary cities, 6 provincial service outsourcing base cities, 15 provincial service outsourcing demonstration zone and over 80 well-known international service outsourcing companies. In addition, as an important service outsourcing base of China, Jiangsu Province has enacted many favorable policies in land, tax, labor and other related aspects, and got ready for developing the service sector.
China International Service Outsourcing Fair (CISOF) will gather many outsourcing experts, scholars, government officials, CEOs and outsourcing related companies from all over the world, to explore the development of China’s outsourcing sector, to showcase results of excellent service outsourcing companies, and to provide global sourcing companies and service providers with a platform of communication and cooperation.
